VER is pleased to offer internship opportunities for emerging professionals and committed leaders who are interested in working to improve the quality of education for all children. Through work experiences, all VER interns will acquire valuable knowledge, skills, experiences, and tools necessary for a lifetime commitment in public education policy, advocacy, community engagement, and nonprofit service. Interns will be a vital part of VER’s mission to assure that all children receive a quality public education.

Potential interns should have strong writing and analytic skills, good organizational skills and the ability to juggle a variety of tasks in a start-up environment, as well as the ability to work well independently.

Interns may engage in a variety of activities, including collecting and analyzing data, tracking issues and policy developments, writing short news briefs, and possibly attending news-related events and generating ideas for news coverage.

Positions are virtual/remote but candidates should be Virginia-based.
